EARLY CLOSING
A decision to close early should be made by 10:30am except in the case of an unforeseen
emergency. We will normally close two hours early at all schools from their regularly scheduled
dismissal times.
All students in PK-2 will have their parents/guardians called to notify them of the early closing. If
we are unable to reach them, their child(ren) will be kept at the Kenneth C. Coombs School's
cafetorium until they are able to be picked up.
Early Closing Schedule
K-2 12:50pm
If, after students have already arrived at school, a decision is made to sent students home early due to
an emergency situations, parents/guardians will be notified through our Connect Ed computerized
notification system. Our student personal Data/Emergency Information form requests the telephone
numbers by which you wish to be notified through this computerized system.
PASSES
Students must have authorization to be out of a classroom when class is in session. This permission
is given through the use of a student pass which is issued by the teacher permitting the student to be
away from class. Otherwise, a student is accompanied by an adult.
A student arriving late to school must obtain an office pass for admission. A student arriving late
must be escorted to the office by a parent/guardian or a person designated by them and must have a
note from the parent/guardian regarding the reason for tardiness. A student entering school after
8:25am is tardy.
SNACKS
Classroom teachers have snack daily with the children.
