Parents/guardians will be held financially responsible for any defacing or damaging of the bus. <br /> Parents/guardians and students are to read these regulations. At the beginning of each school <br /> year, parents/guardians are asked to return the Student Bus Code of Ethics sign-off form at <br /> the back of this handbook indicating that the regulations have been read and understood. <br /> STUDENTS DRIVEN TO SCHOOL OR PICKED UP FROM SCHOOL <br /> AND PARKING DURING THE DAY <br /> It is required that parents/guardians observe the following drop off, parking, and pick-up <br /> procedures at KCC. <br /> NO PARKING AREA <br /> • Absolutely no parking allowed in the circle in front of the school excepting marked <br /> parking spaces only—day or night—24 hours per day,7 days per week. <br /> • Designated parking spaces in front of the building can be used only between the hours <br /> of 9:30am to 1:30pm. NEVER DURING BUS DROP OFF AND PICK UP PRIOR TO <br /> 9:30AM AND AFTER 1:30PM. <br /> • Area in front of the school is a fire lane zone only. Fire lane regulations are per law. <br /> DROPPING OFF OR PICKING UP YOUR CHILD AT SCHOOL <br /> • Drop off is in the main parking lot. <br /> • It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to escort the child(ren)to the sidewalk. <br /> • When dropping off, students cannot arrive prior to 8:10am. There is no supervision for <br /> students prior to this time. Students arriving from 8:10am until school opens will remain <br /> outdoors until permitted into the building by staff on duty. (On inclement weather days, <br /> students will report to the cafeteria until class begins.) <br /> • Preschool drop-off and pick-up is in this same area. No drop-offs or pick-ups in the <br /> playground area. <br /> • If a child is dismissed due to illness or any other reason, pick-up is in the same parking area <br /> or in the designated spaces in front of the school only if they are available. <br /> • When picking up your child at the end of the school day for dismissal, park in main parking <br /> lot. Dismissal is at 2:50pm, otherwise a child is marked as an early dismissal from school <br /> and this will be recorded on the report card. <br /> • You will enter the right door facing the front of the building and report to the secretaries who <br /> will dismiss your child to you. There may be occasional dismissal circumstances for which <br /> the secretary in the hall may require you to go to the main office prior to your child's <br /> dismissal. <br /> • Please observe the handicap parking signs. <br /> • If a child is dropped off prior to school hours and/or picked up beyond school hours the <br /> following will occur: <br /> • first occurrence: Principal will contact parents/guardians; <br /> • second occurrence: Principal will send a letter to parents/guardians; <br /> • third occurrence: Principal will contact Department of Children and Families (DCF) <br /> 96 <br />
