1A '
loo Rau& 6--
PHILIP G.COATESL2i
DIRECTOR
March 4, 1992
888-1155
City/Town Clerk:
Once again, as a result of the Commonwealth-s fiscal
difficulties, I am sorry to say that there does not appear to be
any state monies available for the shellfish expenditure
reimbursement program as provided for in Massachusetts General
Laws, Chapter 130, section 20A (Chapter 571, Acts of 1974) . ''
However, it is our hope that funding for these programs will
eventually be restored in a different format in the near future.
With this in mind, and in an effort to provide continuity to
our record keeping of municipal shellfish expenditures, we are
asking the town/city clerks each coastal community to complete the
enclosed shellfish expenditure form for FY-91 and to provide this
office with acertified copy of the 1992 shellfish by-laws and
regulations.
We would appreciate receiving the completed certified form and
regulations before April 15, 1992 . Please contact any member of
the Shellfish Program at our Sandwich office (508-888-4043 or 508-
888-1155) if there are any questions.
Sincerely,
zz—
Ito,
Drank J Germano '
MA R m y2 Senior iologist
By
