York, Jr. , Shellfish Constable 029���. <br /> Date: June 9, 1993 <br /> Re: Opening Daniel' s Island for soft-shell clamming <br /> On June 3, the Shellfish Commission voted to recommend <br /> opening Daniel's Island for the taking of soft-shell clams. <br /> Daniel's Island is closed to soft-shell clamming to allow <br /> the clams to spawn. Quahogs and other shellfish may be <br /> taken there. <br /> The soft-shell clams spawned this month, and there is <br /> seed from last year ' s spawn in Ockway Bay and Popponesset <br /> Bay.
