MASHPEE 'ETiFISH COMMISSION The Mashpee Shellfish Commission and the Shellfish Constable make the following recommendations to the Board of Selectmen regarding proposed designations of the following " " areas as Famil - Shellf ish-Pe recom- mend rmit-Onl y areas. We recon mend that these areas remain designated as such until further notice. In.Popponesset Bay: 1) The area commonly called "Popponesset Spit"; this area being the waters and flats enclosed by a line drawn from the grey sign at the west end of the Spit out to the edge of the boat channel, then in an easterly direction along the edge of the boat channel to the inside tip of the Spit, then in a westerly direction back along the Mean High Water Mark to the original point at the grey sign. 2) The waters and flats enclosed by a line drawn from a point at the Mean High Water Mark at the base of theier at 36 Popponesset pponesset Island Road, out to the offshore end of that structure, then in a southerly direction to the offshore end of the pier structure at 471 Popponesset Island Road, then back along that ' structute__to its base at the Mean High Water Mark, then in a northerly direction back to the starting point at the-structure at 36 Popponesset Island Road. 3) The waters and flats enclosed by a line drawn from the west end of the northern side of the Popponesset Island Bridge in a northerly direction along the Mean High Water Mark around to a sign placed on the beach in front of 199 Daniels Island Road, then a line drawn straight across the water to a sign placed on the tip of Popponesset Island, then in a southerly direction along the Mean High Water Mark to the east end of the Popponesset Island Bridge, then along the northern side of the bridge back to the original point. 4) The waters and flats enclosed by a line drawn from the chain link fence on the beach to the east of the Mashpee Neck Boat Ramp, to a white buoy with a red stripe offshore from that fence, in a line of buoys placed in an easterly direc- tion around the tip of the point, then back inshore to a sign on the beach, then back along the mean high water mark to the chain link fence. In Waquoit Bay: I" 1) The waters and flats enclosed by a line drawn from the sign on the point of land to the west of the Great River Boat Ramp in a straight line drawn to the tip of lid the pier at 167 Whippoorwill Road, then inshore to the Mean High Water Mark, then gal back along the mean high water mark to the starting point at the sign. k,I� 2) The waters and flats enclosed by a line drawn from a sign at the mouth of the creek that runs under the Seconsett Island Causeway out to a white buoy with a red stripe approximately 150 feet out from the Mean High Water Mark, then in a south- erly direction in a line parallel to the shore of Seconsett Island to a buoy 150 feet out from a sign on the beach at 26 Seconsett Island Road, then inshore to that sign, then back along the Mean High Water Mark to the sign at the mouth of the creek where the line began. , sn
