Prior to removing snow and ice from private ways, those ways shall be <br /> identified in a manner that meets specifications of the Street Superintendent. <br /> c. . No private way shall be plowed or sanded by the town if travel on such <br /> a way is impeded by structures known as "speed bumps," - <br /> So voted <br /> Article 68. <br /> To see if the Town will vote to delete Section 10, "Signs" of the zoning <br /> by-laws and-adopt a new Section 10, Signs as follows: <br /> 10. Intent <br /> It is the intent of this by-law to protect, conserve, and improve <br /> the unique visual quality of the Town of Masbpee while providing <br /> reasonable regulations and control of the erection and maintenance <br /> of signs and advertising devices without restricting the conduct <br /> of lawful enterprise. <br /> 10.1 No sign or advertising devices of any kind or nature shall be <br /> erected on any premises or affixed to the outside of any structure <br /> or be visible from the outside_of any structure in Mashpee except <br /> as permitted by this section. <br /> 10.2 Plans, Specifications and Permits <br /> 10.2.1 Owner's consent: Before any permit is granted for the erection of a <br /> sign, plans and specifications shall be filed with the building <br /> inspector showing the dimensions, materials and required details <br /> of construction, including loads, stresses and anchorage, where <br /> required. The applications shall be accompanied by the written <br /> consent of the owner or lessee of the premises upon which the sign <br /> is to be erected. <br /> 10.2.2 New signs: A new sign shall not hereafter be erected, constructed, <br /> altered or maintained except as herein provided and until after a <br /> permit has been issued by the building inspector, and the bond, if <br /> required, shall have been filed in accordance with Section 10.8. <br /> Signs of over twenty (20) square feet, existing as of the effective <br /> date of this by-law, shall have their continued use subject to the <br /> issuance of a permit from the building inspector. The deadline for <br /> obtaining such a permit is Sept. 1, 1985. <br /> 10.2.3 Alterations: A sign shall not be enlarged or relocated except in <br /> conformity to the provisions of this article for new signs, nor <br /> until a proper permit has been secured. The clianging of movable <br /> " parts of an approved sign that is designated for such changes, <br /> or the repainting or reposting of display matter, shall not be <br /> deemed an alteration; provided the conditions of the original <br /> approval and the requirements of this article are not violated. <br />
