d) Claims will be based on market value of animals <br /> killed to be judged by age and weight and price per <br /> pound or vetinary bills on injured animals <br /> e) Only animals being raised for table use or as a <br /> livelihood are eligible <br /> f) evidence must be present to indicate the loss was <br /> caused by a dog or an eyewitness must attest to this <br /> fact <br /> g) Property must be properly enclosed <br /> h) Application for reimbursement must be submitted <br /> within 5 days of the incident to the Town Clerk <br /> 2. Forms for Application for Reimbursement shall be <br /> provided by the Animal Control Officer and the Town <br /> Clerk. <br /> Section 4.14.8 <br /> Veterinarians ' fees for emergency treatment of dogs and cats <br /> injured on ways. <br /> a) Any veterinarian registered under the provisions of <br /> section fifty-five or fifty-six A of Chapter one <br /> hundred and twelve who renders emergency care or <br /> treatment to, or disposes of, a dog or cat that is <br /> injured on any way shall receive payment from the <br /> owner of such dog or cat, if known, or if not know, <br /> from the Town, in an amount not to exceed twenty <br /> dollars for such care, treatment or disposal; <br /> provided, however, such emergency care treatment or <br /> disposal shall be for the purpose of maintaining life <br /> stabilizing the animal or alleviating suffering until <br /> the owner or keeper of such dog or cat is identified <br /> or for a period of twenty-four hours, whichever is <br /> sooner .
