Motor vehicle excise is expected to be slightly lower based on the volume of <br /> overdue collections in the past few years that must begin to slow as delinquent accounts <br /> are renewed. <br /> Line 2. About half of the hotel/motel excise collected in fy' 96 was overdue payment from <br /> prior years and will not repeat itself. <br /> Line 3. Penalties and interest: several major delinquent taxpayers brought their accounts <br /> current in fy'96, a situation that cannot be depended upon in fy'97. <br /> Line 20. Investment Income: A major portion of this income in fy'96 is from investing <br /> capitol related to construction of a new school. That project is going to permanent <br /> bonding and will not produce significant income in fy'97. <br /> Line 22.
