i Amended motion passes at 9:38 p.m. Article 39. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds the sum of $25,000 to the Environmental Consultant Account. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanation: This Article provides funds for a consultant to assist the Town in addressing various environmental and pollution issues in the Town. Recommendation: Finance Committee does not recommend approval. Motion made by Selectman Caffyn. Motion: I move the Town vote to raise and appropriate $25,000 to the Environmental Consultant Account. Motion passes at 80-78 9:46 p.m. Motion to reconsider defeated at 9:50 p.m. Article 40. To see if the Town will vote to grant to the Mashpee Water District a water distribution easement over the Mashpee-owned land shown on Assessors' Map 57, Lot 47, as shown on the Plan entitled, "Easement Plan of Land in Mashpee, MA. Prepared for Mashpee Water District, Dated February 10, 1997, by Eagle Surveying and Engineering, Inc.," in order to connect to the water line on Crescent Road to Hooppole Road, and to authorize the Selectmen to execute any instruments necessary therefor. Submitted by the Mashpee Water District Explanation: The Mashpee Water District is required to obtain this easement as part of an agreement with the Department of Defense which will bring a public water supply to twenty nine (29)homes in the Briarwood/South Briarwood area. Recommendation: Finance Committee recommends approval. Motion made by Selectman Frye. Motion: I move the Town vote to grant to the Mashpee Water District a water distribution easement over the land shown on Assessors' Map 57, Lot 47, as shown on the Plan entitled "Easement Plan of Land in Mashpee, MA prepared for Mashpee Water District, dated February 10, 1997, by Eagle Surveying and Engineering, Inc." in order to connect to the water line on Crescent Road to Hooppole Road, and to authorize the Selectmen to petition the General Court for any special legislation necessary therefor and to execute any instruments necessary therefor.
