To see if the Town will vote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen to <br /> prepare a plan laying out and defining Back Road and to accomplish said purpose <br /> and for expenses incidental and related thereto, the Town vote to raise and <br /> appropriate or transfer from available funds $9,000 to the Back Road Account, or <br /> take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This article seeks to prepare a layout for the purpose of making <br /> Back Road a Town Road. Improvements to bring Back Road up to Town Road <br /> standards are estimated at approximately $200,000 to be funded at a future Town <br /> Meeting. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Nancy Caffyn. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen <br /> to prepare a plan laying out and defining Back Road and to accomplish said <br /> purpose and for expenses incidental and related thereto, the Town vote to <br /> appropriate and transfer from Revenue Available for Appropriation $9,000 to the <br /> Back Road Account. <br /> Motion passes at 9:35pm. <br /> Article 37 <br /> i <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the zoning bylaw by adding the words "or <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts" after the phrase "is acquired by the town" in <br /> the first sentence of Subsection 174-28.C., or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This subsection currently provides that if land is taken by the <br /> Town, or donated to the Town, for roadway or utility purposes, the parcel from <br /> which the land is acquired will be treated, for the purpose of calculating lot size, <br /> setbacks, allowed lot coverage, etc., as if the parcel still included the land that <br /> was acquired. This amendment would extend that provision to lands acquired in <br /> the same fashion by the state. The intent of the bylaw and amendment is to <br /> reduce the costs associated with land acquisition for roadway improvements. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Curtis Frye. <br />
