Article 33 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Code of the Town of Mashpee to create the , <br /> following new Article XVI in Chapter 5 "Boards, Commissions, Committees and <br /> Agencies": <br /> "ARTICLE XVI <br /> Affordable Housing Committee <br /> § 5-62.Appointment; Membership. <br /> The Affordable Housing Committee shall consist of eleven members from the <br /> following groups: <br /> a member from each of the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, Zoning Board of <br /> Appeals, Council on Aging,Mashpee Housing Authority and Mashpee Wampanoag <br /> Tribal Council, Inc., to be designated by each board/agency respectively; <br /> one member each representing 1) the real estate development industry, 2)a housing <br /> advocacy group, 3) minorities,4)persons with special needs and 5) an environmental <br /> protection agency or advocacy grouts,to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> R , <br /> §5-63. Term; Vacancies. <br /> Members designated by a board/agency shall serve until a replacement is designated <br /> by said board/agency. With respect to elected or appointed officials whose term of <br /> office has expired, the board/agency shall designate a new member within thirty days <br /> of the expiration of the term of office of said official. <br /> Terms of the five members appointed by the Board of Selectmen shall expire annually <br /> on June 30. Vacancies shall be filled for any unexpired term in the same manner as in <br /> the case of original appointments. <br /> §5-64. Organization; Meetings. <br /> The Committee shall elect annually a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Clerk. Said <br /> election shall take place at its first meeting after July 1 of each year. <br /> The Committee may meet as a whole, in working groups appointed by the whole, or in <br /> subcommittees appointed by the Chairman. For meetings of the Committee, a <br /> majority of the full membership shall be a quorum. A majority of such a quorum shall <br /> be required to approve a formal vote, except that a majority of the full Committee <br /> shall be required to adopt, endorse or amend a Housing Development Action Plan. <br /> 1 <br />
