parcels of land identified on the 1999 Mashpee Assessors' Maps as Map 86, Blocks 1 and <br /> 2, located on "Turner Road", to be held in the care and custody of the Conservation <br /> Commission pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40, Section 8C; that the <br /> Town hereby appropriates the sum of $3000,000 for such purpose; including expenses <br /> incidental and related thereto, and that to raise this appropriation, the Treasurer, with the <br /> approval of the Selectmen, is hereby authorized to borrow $300,000 under and pursuant <br /> to Chapter 44, Section 7(3) or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of <br /> the Town therefor; that while any borrowing authorized hereunder shall constitute a <br /> general obligation of the Town, it is expected that all but one dollar ($1.00) of said <br /> borrowing shall be repaid with funds from the Land Bank Fund established by the Town <br /> under the provisions of Chapter 293 of the Acts of 1998 (An Act Relative to the <br /> Establishment of the Cape Cod Open Space Land Acquisition Program); that the Town <br /> hereby appropriates the additional sum of $1,500 from the Land Bank Account to the <br /> Issuance of Debt Account; that the Town hereby authorize the Board of Selectmen and/or <br /> Conservation Commission to apply for and accept Federal, State and/or County grants, <br /> including reimbursements under Chapter 132A, Section 11 of the General Laws, the <br /> "Self-Help Act", to be applied by the Town toward the costs of this purchase, and to enter <br /> into contracts or agreements with Federal, State and/or County Agencies, private <br /> conservation trusts or other entities or persons in connection with the purchase of such <br /> land and its preservation for conservation and passive recreation purposes, including <br /> enforcement of conservation restrictions on the land; and finally, that the Conservation <br /> Commission and the Board of Selectmen are each hereby authorized to enter into <br /> agreements and execute any and all instruments as may be necessary on behalf of the <br /> Town to effectuate said acquisition, sale, transfer or preservation. <br /> Motion made to dispense with reading of Article 26 made at 9:07 p.m. <br /> Motion to dispense with reading of Article 26 passes 9:07 p.m. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 9:16 p.m. <br /> own of hpee, <br /> i <br />
