Article 7 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to upgrade the position of Administrative Clerk in <br /> Personnel to a Personnel Assistant under the Personnel Administration Plan, Grade 8, a <br /> Step 1, Appendix B, and to raise and appropriate $3,890 to the Personnel <br /> Salary/Wage Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Personnel Department <br /> Explanation: The role of the Personnel Administrative Clerk has grown in �� <br /> responsibilities which require assisting the Personnel Administrator in covering <br /> virtually every personnel action that might occur during an employee's tenure with <br /> the Town. This position is a key support position, which includes a full range of <br /> personnel responsibilities in several functional areas and much more. Our service to <br /> employees has increased in the areas of: <br /> • liaison to all town departments on personnel-related issues <br /> • record keeping (automating personnel records) <br /> • maintaining employee files 1 <br /> • monitoring and tracking of attendance and leave usage <br /> • monitoring and tracking of performance appraisal process <br /> • advertising for town positions and collection of all applications <br /> • orientation of new employees <br /> • contract administration <br /> • distribution of town policies and procedures <br /> • assisting with benefit administration <br /> • providing assistance in personnel matters to town personnel <br /> • assisting with coordination of in-house training programs and workshops <br /> • assisting with testing and examination processes <br /> • entering employee information into Town's new automatic data processing <br /> system <br /> • tracking town sick leave banks, longevity, etc. u <br /> • processing unemployment notification and claims, D.O.R. reports, etc. <br /> Upgrading this position to Personnel Assistant will provide both internal and extemal <br /> equity. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. ; <br /> Motion to be made by Wayne Taylor. y <br /> Motion: I move Article 7 be voted as printed in the warrant with the exception of I= <br /> the phrase, or take any other action relating thereto". l '` <br /> f <br />
