Article 12 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create a full-time Human Services Coordinator under <br /> the Massachusetts Laborers' District Council Contract, Unit B, for the Board of Health <br /> and further to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $46,551 with <br /> said funds to be distributed as follows: $38,612 to the Board of Health Salary/Wage <br /> Account, $7,344 to the Medical Insurance Account, $560 to the Medicare Account and <br /> $35 to the Group Insurance Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Health and <br /> Human Services Committee <br /> Explanation: This position has been in existence for two years under contractual <br /> agreement with Falmouth Human Services. When the Mashpee Human Services <br /> Department was created under the supervisory authority of the Board of Health, a <br /> contractual framework appeared to be in the best interest of the Town. Bringing the <br /> department directly under the Board of Health will eliminate a now unnecessary layer <br /> of administration. With increasing requests for human service needs, the Board of <br /> Health recommends that this important position now be included directly under the <br /> Board of Health with one qualified person in a position to supervise, coordinate, <br /> review and monitor the activities of the more than dozen human service agencies <br /> which are under contract with the Town, as well as provide direct counseling services <br /> and respond to critical human service needs of Mashpee residents. <br /> I , <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion to be made by John Cahalane. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to create a full-time Human Services Coordinator <br /> position under the Massachusetts Laborers'District Council Contract, Unit B, for the <br /> Board of Health, and further, the Town vote to raise and appropriate $46,551 with <br /> said funds to be distributed as follows: $38,612 to the Board of Health Salary/Wage <br /> Account, $7,344 to the Medical Insurance Account, $560 to the Medicare Account, <br /> and $35, to the Group Insurance Account. <br /> w� <br /> 12 <br />
