Article 19 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Library Trustees and the Board of Selectmen to <br /> apply for any library construction grants which might be available to defray all or any part of the <br /> cost of the design, construction and equipping of the library project and furthermore, to <br /> authorize the Library Trustees and/or the Board of Selectmen to accept and expend any grant <br /> funds from the state or any other agencies and/or to accept donations received for library <br /> design, construction or equipment, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Library Trustees ' <br /> Explanation: The library has applied for a Library Construction Grant from the Massachusetts . <br /> Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) to defray part of the cost of library design and <br /> construction. This grant will pay about 36% of the cost of the library project. One of the <br /> requirements of the grant is that the Town takes a Town meeting vote and forwards a certified #1 <br /> copy of this vote to the MBLC by May 10, 2001. The vote must confirm that the Town agrees <br /> to apply for this library construction grant and to expend any grant award for library design and , <br /> construction. If this Town meeting vote were not forwarded to the MBLC, Mashpee would be <br /> ineligible to receive this library construction grant.
