Explanation: This article is necessary to cover costs for insurance for the current fiscal year. Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. Motion made by David Leveille. Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from Revenue Available for Appropriation $5,000 to the Town Insurance Expense Account. Motion passes unanimously at 7:35 p.m. Article 5 To see if the Town will vote to make up the difference in the salary of Patrolman Glenn Gillan who was activated on 9/11/2001 after the tragic incidents of that day. The difference is $148 per week. Submitted by Petition Explanation: Patrolman Gillan was activated, placed on active duty orders for the military and is making $148 less per week than he was working as a patrolman for the Mashpee Police Department. The funds are already allocated for his position in the Mashpee Police Department's budget and should not cause any further expendature (sic) to the Police Department, or the Town. The funds requested are for the current fiscal year ending on June 30, 2001 (sic). Recommendation: The Finance Committee does not recommend approval. Motion made by Gerald Umina . Motion passes 264 to 51 at 7:48 p.m. Special Town Meeting adjourns at 7:48 p.m. And you are hereby directed to serve this Warrant by posting up attested copies thereof, one at the Town Hall, one at the Post Office, and one each on the bulletin boards, thirty days at least before said meeting.
