Town of Mashpee Special Town Meeting June 2, 2003 Meeting was called to order at 7:36 p.m. 298 voters present Quorum 100 Barnstable, ss: Greetings g To the Constables of the Town, 4 In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and summon the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee who are qualified to vote in the elections to � meet at the Quashnet School on Monday, the 2 day of June, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. for the following i purposes: f: 4 To act on the articles contained in the following Warrant. Motion made by Karen Walden. j Motion: I move pursuant to MGL Chapter 39 Section 15 to dispense with a counted vote on I' those articles requiring a 2/3rds vote, however, seven voters may question the Moderator's declaration of the vote and a counted vote shall occur. i Motion passes at 7:38 p.m. Article 1 To see if the Town will vote to pay, in addition to the payment of fifty per cent of a premium for contributory group life, hospital, surgical, medical, dental and other health insurance for employees retired from the service of the Town, and their dependents, a subsidiary or additional rate,pursuant to the provisions of G.L.c.32B, §9E, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanation: This article if adopted would allow the municipality the ability to pay greater than 50% of the cost of health insurance for retirees. Recommendation: Finance Committee takes no position on article. Motion made by David Leveille.
