The land is in the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge, is recommended for <br /> acquisition by the Comprehensive Plan and the Town's open space plan, and is both a potential <br /> well site and within the recharge area of the Mashpee Water District's "Belcher"well site. The <br /> purchase would be made jointly by the Town and the Mashpee Water District, with the District <br /> contributing $275,000 and the Town contributing the remainder of the $400,000 purchase price <br /> using Land Bank funds.
