Explanation: This article requests the concerned Town Board and Commissions follow through <br /> on the May 2003 Town Meeting vote that postponed transfer of the parcel to the Conservation <br /> Commission in anticipation of the subject exchange. This exchange benefits the Conservation by <br /> a net increase in Conservation land area and the Town in a marked decrease in the technical <br /> challenge and costs associated with the Mashpee River Dredging Project and other potential <br /> projects. It complies with the citizen's May 2003 Town Meeting vote. <br /> Motion made by Edward Baker <br /> Motion: I move, the Town vote to advise the Board of Selectmen, the Waterways Commission and the <br /> Conservation Commission the Town's desire, they take the action necessary to transfer ownership of a <br /> Town owned parcel of approximately 7.1 acres (assessor's Map 94, Parcel 7) to the Conservation <br /> Commission as part of an exchange for approximately 5 acres of Conservation Land suitable to support <br /> the Mashpee River dredging project to the Town. <br /> Motion made to move question passes at 9:33 p.m. <br /> Motion passes at 9:33 p.m. <br /> Article 23 [ <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectmen to accept the layout of <br /> Jonas Drive as a public way as shown on plan titled as "Jonas Drive Extension"by the planning board <br /> dated April 1985; and to accomplish said purpose and for expenses incidental and related thereto, the <br /> Town vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds for appropriation a sum of money to <br /> the Jonas Drive Account and to raise said appropriation the Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of <br /> Selectmen, be authorized to borrow at one time, from time to time, a sum of money under and pursuant <br /> to Chapter 44, Section 7 or 8 or any enabling authority and to issue bonds and notes of the Town <br /> therefore, and to further authorize the Board of Selectmen to assess betterments to the owners of the <br /> land abutting the ways, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Petition <br /> Motion by Wayne Taylor to indefinitely postpone made at 9:34 p.m. <br /> Motion to indefinitely postpone passes at 9:34 p.m. <br /> Article 24 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize and empower the Board of Selectman (sic) to prepare a plan <br /> laying out and defining Quashnet Woods Drive and Grant Breen Drive, and to accomplish said purpose <br /> and for expenses incidental and related thereto, the Town vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from <br /> available funds for appropriation a sum of money to the Quashnet Woods Drive and Grant Breen Drive r' <br /> Roadways account and to raise said appropriation, the Treasurer with the approval of the Board of <br /> Selectman (sic) be authorized to borrow at one time, or from time to time, a sum of money under and <br /> pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7 or 8 or any other enabling authority and to issue bonds and notes of <br /> the Town therefore, and further, to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from <br /> October 20, 2003 Town Meeting <br />
