A fine of$50.00 a day shall be assessed for all <br /> signs not having a placard after December 1, 2004. <br /> Explanation: <br /> When the public sees a street sign posted on a traveled way, they assume that the road is , <br /> public or private, and has a status that has benefits attributed to such roads. Driveways <br /> are not subject to emergency repairs or snow and ice treatment by the Town of Mashpee. <br /> There is no oversight by the Town of Mashpee related to curb cuts or utility openings on <br /> "Private Driveways." Driveways can be closed or changed at the whim of the owner. By <br /> indicating"Private Driveway," we alert the public that there is something unique about <br /> the conditions at hand.
