Botello of Osterville, Massachusetts
for a Special Permit under Sections 6.3.E. 1, 6.2.E.3 and 6.3.E.8 of the
Zoning By-laws for permission to build a retail center in a C-2 zoning
district on property located at 6 Bowdoin Road (Map 54, Block 48) and
14 Bowdoin Road (Map 54, Block 51) Mashpee, Massachusetts. .
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The
Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee
on November 27 and December 4, 1989, a copy of which is a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall
on Wednesday, December 13, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the following
members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout:
William J. Hanrahan, Edward M. Govoni and John J. Friel.
Mr. Paul Botello represented his application. He informed the
Board that he proposed to construct a one-story retail building of
13 units. His intention is to occupy all of the units and the building
would be called the Botello Home Center. Plans for the building and
landscaping have been approved by the Design Review Committee. The
wooded-areas -abutting the adjoining lot would be preserved and
planting mounds with sod and shrubs would be used at the entrance.
There were no comments from abutters.
The Board determined that granting this Special Permit would be
in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning By-laws
and would not be a detriment to the surrounding neighborhood.
