Article 4. 6 Regulations Relative to Public Safety <br /> Section 4.6. 1 Mechanical Protection Devices. It shall <br /> be unlawful to installa mechanical <br /> protection device that is automatically <br /> keyed to and/or listed to the Mashpee Fire <br /> Department and Police Department . All such <br /> devices installed before the effective <br /> date of this section shall be removed <br /> within sixty days. Mechanical <br /> protection devices shall be defined as: <br /> an electrically-operated instrument <br /> composed of sensory apparatus and related <br /> hardware which automatically sends over <br /> regular telephone lines, by direct <br /> connection or otherwise , a pre-recorded <br /> voice alarm upon receipt of a stimulus from <br /> the sensory appartus that has detected a <br /> physical force or condition inherenty <br /> characteristic of a fire or an unauthorized <br /> instrusion . <br /> i <br /> Section 4.6.2 Smoke or Heat Detectors. Hotels, <br /> boarding or lodging houses, family hotels <br /> or apartment houses containing six or more <br /> dwelling units which are not regulated by <br /> Section 26A and 26B of Chapter 148 of the <br /> General Laws shall be equipped with an <br /> automatic smoke or heat detector in each <br /> dwelling unit and each hallway floor . The <br /> head of the fire department , as defined in <br /> Section 1 of Chapter 148, shall enforce <br /> the provisions of th i s section . The Tot:,in <br /> hereby accepts the provision= of Chapter <br /> 148, Section 26C, of the General Laws. <br /> Section 4.6.8 Fences Around Outdoor Swimming Pool = <br /> All private outdoor swimming pools shall be <br /> fenced around the entire perimeter of the <br /> pool to a height not less than five feet <br /> from grade , except for any fence in <br /> existence on the effective date of this by- <br /> law which may have a height of not less r N <br /> than four feet .
