Section 4.7.5. 1 Divers and Diving Any person or persons skin diving or scuba diving shall : a7 Display a diver's flag constructed of rigidly supported material at least 12 inches by 15 inches in area of red background with a white diagonal stripe . b7 Display such flag on a boat or r surface float extending a minimum distance of 3 feet from the surface of the water , or to such other height in excess of 3 feet , as to be sufficient to be visible to k Passing boats. c7 stay in an area within 1010 feet of such displayed diver's flag t while at or near the surface of the water . i (Amended at Annual Town Meeting May 3, 1982 and approved September 7, 1982) . Section 4.7.6 Enforcement and Penalties. a. Unless otherwise specified, the Provisions of this by-law shall be enforced f by the Harbormaster , Assistant Harbormasters and by police officers I' empowered to patrol the waters of the Town of Mashpee . I� b. The Board of Selectmen may appoint a Director of Inland Waters and i may appoint Assistant Directors of Inland Waters to serve for one year or until a successor is appointed and qualified,* with Police powers for each of the ponds within the Town , to enforce the by-law relative to use of waterways. Such person or persons shall be at the recommendation of and responsible to the Police Chief and the Selectmen . The duties and responsibilities of this position are to provide full authority to enforce all laws, rules and regulations of the Mashpee inland waterways, with a primary concern for public safety and the preservation of our natural water resources. In the exercise of any police power conferred herein , the Director and/or Assistant Directorshall come under the c administrative control of the Police Department of the Town . C .
