No person owning or keeping a dog in the Town of Mashpee shall permit such dog to be kept at large in the Town of Mashpee other then on the premises of the owner or keeper, except if it be on the premises of another person with the knowledge and ,-- permission of such other person . Such owner or keeper of a dog in the Town of Mashpee , which is not on the premises of the own.-!r or upon the premises of another person with the knowledge and permission of such person shall restrain such dog. b. In any prosecution hereunder, the presence of such dog at large upon premises other r than the premises of the i owner or keeper of such dog shall be prima facie evi- dence that such knowledge and permission was not had. C. Any dog found to be at large in violation of this article shall be caught and confined by the Animal Control Officer who shall notify forthwith the licensed owner or keeper of said dog giving the owner or keeper a period of ten ( 10 ) days within which to recover the dog. Return of the dog to the licensed owner or keeper shall be dependent upon admission of ownershi? or the keeping of the dog and tha assumption o-r responsibility by the licensed owner or keeper. The Animal Control Officer may prosecute a complaint against_ the owner or keeper of any dog taken into his custody under _his section, as provided for in this article and in Chapter 140 Section 173A of the General Laws , as applicable: d. The Animal Control Officer 'paving custody of a dog con- fined under this article shall be allowed the sum of three (53 . 00) dollars per day for each day of confinement for the care of such dcg payable by the owner or keeper thereof. Any sums so collected sha11 be paid over to the treasurer or the Town pursuant to Chapter 44 Section 53 Of' the ;e-eras.
