SECTION 8: OFF-STREET PARKING <br /> 8.1 No land shall be used and no building or structure shall be erected, <br /> enlarged or used unless the off-street parking spacr requirements are a <br /> provided as specified in this section. For the purpose of this section <br /> an enlargement of any building shall require the provision of off-street <br /> parking for the existing building as if it were newly constructed. <br /> 8.2 Where the computation of required parking space results in a fractional <br /> number, only the fraction of one-half (1/2) or more shall be counted as <br /> one. <br /> 8.3 Required off-street parking facilities for non-residential purposes <br /> and apartments shall be provided on the same lot as the principal use they <br /> are designed to serve and all parking spaces shall be paved. <br /> 8.4 Each required car space shall be not less than nine (9) feet in width and <br /> twenty (20) feet in length exclusive of drives and maneuvering space and <br /> the total area of any parking facility for more than five (5) cars shall <br /> average at least three hundred (300) square feet per car exclusive of drive- <br /> ways. <br /> 8.5 Where on building is used for more than one use, parking requirements shall <br /> be computed for each use ( a motel with a restaurant would be required to pro- <br /> vide parking for both rental units and for seating capacity of the restaurant r <br /> a professional office in a residence must provide the space for both office <br /> use in addition to the residential requirement.) ' <br /> Principal- Use Number of Spaces <br /> One and two family dwellings 2 spaces per dwelling unit <br /> Apartments 2* spaces per dwelling unit ` <br /> Rooming houses & Lodging Houses 3 spaces + 1 space for each <br /> rental unit over 2. <br /> Nursing Homes 1 space for each 2 beds <br /> Motels, Hotels, & Inns 2 spaces + 1-1/2 spaces for <br /> each rental unit + 1-1/2 spaces <br /> for each 20 Squa-re'feet. of floor h <br /> area available for meetings or <br /> functions . <br /> Permitted Offices in 3 spaces + 3 spaces for each <br /> Residences non-resident employee. <br /> ReOT Stores and Services 1 space for each one hundred <br /> fifty (150) square feet of <br /> gross floor area. <br /> *Apartments built under 1 space per dwelling unit i <br /> housing for the elderly <br /> Apartments over 4 stories 1-1/2 spaces per dwelling unit: <br /> in height. <br /> -22- COMMUNITY PLANNING SERVICES <br />
