10.6 . 5 No free standing sign shall have signboard area <br /> (or display area if no signboard ) exceeding the <br /> dimensions allowed under 10 . 6 . 3 above , measured <br /> from the tops of the topmost display elements , and <br /> including in such measurements any blank space <br /> between display elements . No display or signboard <br /> dimensions shall exceed forty (40 ) feet for a <br /> free-standing sign . <br /> .10.6.6 Illuminated signs are permitted , subject to the <br /> following conditions_: <br /> a ) No sign shall be intermittently <br /> illuminated , nor of a traveling light , <br /> animated or flashing light type . No exposed <br /> neon-type signs shall be permitted in the <br /> Town of Mashpee. <br /> b ) Sign illumination is permitted only <br /> between the hours of seven ( 7 ) o ' clock in <br /> the morning and eleven ( 11 ) o 'clock in the <br /> evening , except the signs of commercial or <br /> industrial establishments may be illuminated <br /> during any hours these establishments are <br /> open to the public or in operation . <br /> Illuminated signs on public buildings and land <br /> are exempt from this provision . <br /> 10. 6 . 7 Illumination : Except as otherwise prohibited <br /> herein , signs may be illuminated by any fixed <br /> steady light source , of such nature and in such <br /> manner that the brightn-ss o-f the sign face does <br /> not exceed one hundred ( 100 ) lumens per square <br /> foot . Except for non -exposed neon-type signs , <br /> where permitted , such illumination shall be so <br /> arranged that its exterior source is not directly <br /> visible from any way or occupied building , and no <br /> illumination shall be of any color that might be <br /> confusing to traffic . Holiday lights shall not be <br /> deemed as coming within the provisions of this <br /> paragraph , but this paragraph shall apply to <br /> window signs . <br /> 10 .6 .8 In all zoning districts , for safety reasons , any <br /> private outdoor lighting fixture , exclusive of <br /> street lights , whether temporary or permanent , <br /> shall be so placed or hooded that no light beams <br /> shall be directed at any point beyond the lot <br /> lines of the premises illuminated . <br /> 10.6 . 9 Where a group (three or more ) of business <br /> buildings are built as a " Plaza , " "Mall , " <br /> " Village , " or " Shopping Center , " . and it is desired <br /> to- identify the groupings as -such , in addition <br /> 10 - 6 <br />
