Abbott
Assistant Attorney General ;
Chief Municipal Law Unit
Office of the Attorney General
One Ashburton Place
Boston, MA 02108
Dear Mr. Abbott,
re: Re-Vote of Sign Code Bylaw Article
i
I
This article was recently disapproved by your office pursuant to M.G.L. 40A, §5 because
we had not protected "political and cause signs." That issue was addressed and corrected in an
article at Mashpee's recent town meeting, held on May 7, 1997.
f
i
I am asking for your guidance on what steps I need to take with regards to that article.
i
I have the Sign Code bylaw that was heard and advertised properly and approved by the
Planning Board (a copy is enclosed). On town meeting floor an amendment was read and voted
unanimously, which I feel changes the bylaw as originally advertised. I have also enclosed a copy
of the amendment that was read.
Please advise.
Sincerely,
i
I
Jane D.
