A •nolH[[wA <br />CAPE Coo SOCIETY ENGINEER[ A SURVEYORS <br />SOCIETY AMERICAN MlurAnr [NRm[u• <br />Moro 2, 1973 <br />Hoard <br />REPLY TO: Ilyannis <br />026.19 Re: Subdivision Plan of Santuit <br />Woods,, Section C <br />I have this day checked the plans and profiles of the above subdivision and <br />find that they conform to the requirements, of your board in every respect <br />except for the addition to the typical roadway section (4 foot shoulders to be <br />added) which the developer is in the process of delivering to me. The developer's <br />-estimated cost of the construction of the roads and drainage and the install- <br />ation of underground power is $116,000. We thin: this estimate is low. Our <br />estimate of the cost would be closer to $150,000. <br />We recommend that the road names be checked for duplication, and that the <br />following procedure b.e followed and that the Planning Hoard require an <br />inspection by the town engineer at three stages of road construction: <br />1. When gravel base is fine graded, and certified by a registered engineer <br />to meet the required standards; no bituminous binder course or road <br />oil shall be laid or applied until the town engineer has given the <br />developer or his agent a written "O.K." to proceed. <br />2. When the binder course of bituminous concrete has been laid; no finish <br />course shall be laid until the town eng neer has given the developer, or <br />his agent, a written "O.K." to proceed. <br />3. When all road construction, drainage,,ut:ility and other required <br />installations have been completed and a.l necessary road bounds set, <br />and a certification by a. registeredi engineer to this effect sent out <br />to the Hoard. <br />We also reconmlend that a final approval by the Planning Hoard be withheld until <br />it has been determined that the town engineer ha: been paid for his services. <br />I think if this procedure is followed, we will a,oid many of the difficulties <br />which we have had in .the past. <br />Very tru.y yours, <br />CIIN2I.FS 11.
