0 <br />C <br />u <br />E <br />Ecology: Because of the following information, the Quashnet Valley <br />Country Club would not have a negative effect upon either the town, <br />the project site, or the residents of the project: <br />1. Water will be supplied by a publically franchised central water <br />company which will utilize ground water sources. <br />2. Sewage will be disposed of by individual septic tanks and leaching <br />pits requiring state approval. <br />3. Site drainage will be taken care of by leaching catch basins, preserv- <br />ing the purity of Quashnet River and recharging water table. <br />4. Roads and buildings would be carefully graded and disturbed ground <br />,surface areas will be re -landscaped in a professional manner. <br />5. Diversion ditches, berms and other erosion control means will be used <br />during construction to prevent any erosion from taking place. <br />6. The project would not detract from the character of the area, but <br />rather would set a high standard for future development. <br />7. Ground water is of good quality and plentiful. CCPEDC estimates that <br />the ground water supply in Mashpee could support a maximum of 41,322 <br />people, while another reports that Otis A.F.B alone could supply <br />70,000 people with water. The project will give much more to the <br />town in taxes than it will require in services. <br />Traffic: Two access roads will serve the project. The practical capacity <br />of these roads, based on width, alignment, lateral clearance and a speed <br />of 35 mph is 500 + vehicles per hour. The maximum peak load generated <br />by the projeet upon completion would be 223 vehicles. The 223 cars <br />represent 1/4 of the residents moving within the peak hour. This low <br />estimate is due to the fact that most of the units will be sold to <br />seasonal people who will not generate a morning and evening "rush". <br />Assuming that 50% of those 223 vehicles leaving the project travel in <br />each direction, the peak load represents 23% of the access roads capacity. <br />Recreation: The Quashnet Valley Country Club would be almost self- <br />contained with respect to recreational facilities.
