MA 02649 DECISION RE: Petition of Arthur Burnes for a Variance Case #V-87-09-089 A Petition was filed by Arthur Burnes of Mashpee, Massachusetts for a Variance for permission to enter within 50 feet of the wetlands and to ex- tend a non-conforming use in a R-3 (previous R-1 ) Zoning District on pro- perty located on lot 293 Compass Drive, Popponesset Island, Mashpee, Massachusetts. Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts Gen- eral Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in the Falmouth Enter- prise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee on Augsut 26 & September 2, 1987, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. A public hearing was held on the petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on Wednesday, September 9, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: William Hanrahan, Michael Makunas and Edward Govoni . The Board was informed the proposed addition will be 22 feet square. Thru information received the Board learned there is no alternative location in which to place the proposed dwelling due to the shape of the lot and the loca- tion of the septic system. Comments were received from the Mashpee Conserva- tion Commission.
