MA 02649
DECISION
FOR A SPECIAL PERMIT
RE: Petition of Steven Purcell for a Special Permit Case: SP-88-07-055
A Petition was filed by Steven Purcell of Sandwich, Massachusetts
for a Special Permit under Section 10.2.4 of the Land Use Requirements
for the construction of a sign on property located on Echo Road
(Map 20, Lots 25 and 26) Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in the Falmouth
Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee
on July 27 and August 3, 1988, a copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the petition at the Mashpee Town Hall
on Wednesday, August 10, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the following
members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout:
Cheryl Hawver, Richard Halpern and Edward Govoni.
The Board was informed that the applicant proposes to have an
8' x 5' wooden sign at the entrance to Echo Park. The sign would
provide for eight slats for tenant identification and had been approved
by the Design Review Committee.
The Board established that granting this Special Permit would be
in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the zoning by-laws
and would not be a detriment to the Town.
