Notice was given by publication in The
Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee,
on March 12 and March 19, 1990, a copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
A public hearing was held on the Petition as the Mashpee Town Hall
on Wednesday, March 28, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. at which time the following
members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout:
Cheryl A. Hawver, William J. Hanrahan and Richard E. Halpern.
Attorney Winn Davis represented the Applicant. He presented plans
for an 80 square foot sign which would be set back 25 feet from the
road. He explained that the smaller businesses located in the rear of the
complex do not get any visibility from Route 28. The new sign would be
designed as a directory of all of the tenants in Summerfield Park.
At the present time the sign at the entrance identifies Summerfield
Park only.
Comments were received from the Town Clerk in favor of the sign,
and three tenants spoke in favor of the Petition.
Douglas S. Boyd, Building Inspector, stated that the zoning by-laws
allow for one sign per access.
'The Board determined that the use is in harmony with the general
purpose and intent of the zoning By-laws and complies with the provisions
set forth therein.
i
I
