i <br /> MASHPEE MIDDLE SCHOOL <br /> SCHOOL COUNCIL <br /> MEETING DATE: DECEMBER 18 , 1995 <br /> I . 7 :OOPM - All members present. Introductions are made to <br /> Arthur Morley who was absent at first meeting. <br /> II . Review and approval of November 6 minutes . <br /> III . Old business : <br /> Carol Russell discusses playground status - PTO is <br /> meeting with Big Toys. <br /> Donna McCaffrey presents information on potential <br /> playground sites from Town Planner. <br /> The 1996 Reorganization is discussed. <br /> Bob Tippo informs Council that doors are being closed - <br /> (one of the concerns presented at 11/6 meeting) . <br /> 5th and 6th grade Student Council now includes grade 4 . <br /> They meet every other week. <br /> Mike Persico brings up entrance of the school, suggests <br /> trophy cases go to high school . Usually the 8th grades <br /> give something back to the school when they leave . He <br /> suggests they have a contest to decorate the entrance <br /> walls . <br /> Donna M. brings up Pizza Hut still going reading program. <br /> A-Team Sundae Party is discussed. <br /> Report Cards are discussed. Barbara Kasher would like to <br /> see children recognized for effort, also lower grade <br /> recognition. Brief discussion followed. <br /> Bob Tippo suggests camera for the school. <br /> IV. Budget Draft #3 <br /> Certain aspects are discussed: <br /> An additional lunch room monitor is under request. <br /> There will be 2-3/4 guidance counselors - one for MS & <br /> one for the ES. <br /> A discussion on workbooks . <br /> Next year we will go back to 5-day cycle - <br /> grades 4-6 will have science with homeroom teacher <br /> grades 1-3 will have science and no computer. <br /> Carol Russell suggests Integrated Arts Specialists for <br /> Kindergarten to free up specials . <br />
