Page 3
6:40PM Regular Session
Mr. Goggin felt that the contracts are what they are. They have
the support of the Selectmen and unfortunately this meeting took
place after all the negotiation had been done. The Finance
Committee requested many times to be involved. Mr. Golub agreed
that the Selectmen had agreed to more meetings and including the
Finance Committee. Mr. Gallo also agreed that there is not much
the Finance Committee can do at this point. Mr. Bacigalupi stated
that they could not recommend the Town approve it. Mr. Goggin
worried that these contracts would set a minimum for the rest of
the contract negotiations. Mr. Goggin mentioned that if the
Finance committee decides to fight this then they need to have all
the facts and points in line. Ms. King felt that something needed
to be written. It was her feeling that if negotiations went back
to the table a better deal would be gotten for the taxpayers.
Ms. King mentioned a Taxpayer's meeting on Friday evening. Mr.
Golub suggested inviting all to attend the Finance Committee's
meeting on Tuesday night to gain support in fighting these
contracts.
Mr. Gallo Motioned to adjourn the regular session meeting at
7:OOPM. Alec Watt seconded the Motion and members approved 6-0.
The next scheduled meeting is on Tuesday, September 26, 1995 at
7:OOPM. Minutes respectfully submitted by Jean M. Mooney, Board
Secretary.
