13 <br />Board of Selectmen <br />Minutes <br />May 16, 2016 <br />Annroval of Annointment to the Council on Acing — David Egel: <br />Correspondence was received from David Egel expressing interest to serve on the Council on Aging. <br />At their meeting of April 13, 2016 the Council on Aging voted unanimously to recommend the <br />appointment of David Egel to fill the current vacancy. <br />Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to appoint David Egel to the Council on Aging. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cahalane, yes Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br />Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Opposed, none <br />LIAISON REPORTS <br />JBCC: At the last Joint Base Cape Cod Community Advisory Council meeting there was noted progress in <br />range operations including pistol range improvements. The initiatives will support the protection of the <br />grounds and aquifer from potential contaminants. <br />Waterways Commission: The dredging of the Popponesset Bay approach channel is now complete and ready <br />for the upcoming season. <br />Communitv Garden: It was reported the Assistant Conservation Agent Katelyn Cadoret is re -invigorating the <br />community garden site. A total of 16 public garden plots are available for a cost of $25 per year. The <br />Community Garden was constructed several years ago with Community Preservation funding. It is a great <br />spot to plant a vegetable garden. Interested residents are encouraged to contact the Conservation Office. <br />John's Pond: Christian Cotton has taken on an initiative to protect native species for his Eagle Scout project <br />by eradicating the invasive koi fish located in John's Pond. <br />
