16 Board of Selectmen Minutes August 21, 2017 OLD BUSINESS Review and Action on Draft#4 October Town Meeting Warrant: (continued) Article#S: Continued Mrs. Botsford indicated the homes deeded in perpetuity as affordable would be rehabilitated where necessary. The target of the program-is to produce rentals at least 20%below fair market value. Credit and history background reviews would assist in the rental selection process. In considering costs Mrs. Botsford outlined the monthly rent savings projection for a 2 bedroom as a$49 per month and 3 bedroom $29/month savings, The MHA anticipates setting aside rental funds to support the mortgage payment, repairs, maintenance and monthly management fees. In considering the proposal, it was recommended the project be offered e)cclusively to Mashpee residents only. Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to include Article#8 of the October warrant amending the language to offer the rental units exclusively to Mashpee residents only, and further to co-sponsor the article with the Community Preservation Committee to reserve the right to change the program. Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman., VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Roll Call Vote: Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Opposed, none Article#9: To transfer the sum of$20,000 from the Waterways Improvement Fund to the Department of Natural Resources Equipment Expense Account to purchase equipment/hardware for the maintenance of the waterways by the DN R/Harbormaster. The article was amended from $70,000. Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to include Article#9 of the October warrant as reduced to $20,000. Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
