13 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 24, 2003 <br /> Recommendation for Appointment—Constable: <br /> The Selectmen were in receipt of an application for appointment a <br /> Constable. Acting Chief Todino remitted correspondence to the <br /> Selectmen dated March 17, 2003 indicating that the background <br /> application reflected no derogatory information that would prohibit <br /> Michael F. Scripoli. Jr, frorn being appointed as Constable. Mr. Scripoli is <br /> a resident of the Town of llashpee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters'to appoint Michael F. Scripoli, <br /> Jr. as a Constable of the Town of Mashpe . <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Request for Permission for"Ride for Blue Pride" Bike Ride: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Westport Police Department <br /> requesting approval to begin the 4 'annual "Ride for Blue Pride's in the <br /> Town of Mashpee. It is a fifty mile motorcycle ride to honor the <br /> memories of those police officers billed in the lime of duty. <br /> Motion-made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the, tide for Blue <br /> Pride' event and use of Frank Hicks Drive and the Police and Fire <br /> complex parldng areas on May 3, 2003. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0, <br /> Request for vehicle: <br /> Communication was received from Acting Chief Todino dated March 18, <br /> 2003 requesting the Selectmen substitute the model of the police cruiser <br /> that was totaled in a recent motor vehicle accident to a Ford Expedition <br /> rather than a Crown victoria Sedan. <br /> Chief Todino discussed his research to support the request for a substitute <br /> vehicle. Discussion followed. <br /> Motion made by Selectman llarsters to support the purchase of a <br /> Crown Victoria Sedan police cruiser to replace the totaled vehicle. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> voTE: -1. Motion carries. <br /> Selectman Green In opposition. <br />
