Board ofSelectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 2, 2003 <br /> Present: Selectman Leveille!, Selectman Green, Selectman Cahalane, <br /> Selectman Marsters, Selectman Taylor <br /> Ton Administrator Joyce Mason <br /> Assistant Town Administrator Janes Marr <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman L veille at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Quashnet School Conference Room. <br /> OLDBUSINESS: <br /> Review of Special Town Meeting Warrant: <br /> The Board of Selectmen met prior to the Special Town Meeting on this <br /> date for the pilose of reviewing articles pertaining to the warrant. In <br /> attendance were Tow,Counsel, David Doneski and Town Moderator <br /> Jeremy Carter. -The Ton Accountant and Treasurer/Tax Collector were <br /> also present. Additional attendees included Finance Committee members <br /> Kathleen Lynch, Frederick Blythe, Carlton Meredith, Scott Wellington <br /> and Gerald Um na. <br /> Town Counsel gave a brief clarification relative to wording a it appears in <br /> the warrant in accordance with statutory language requirements relative to <br /> dental insurance. <br /> The vote of the Special Ton Meeting would give the Selectmen the <br /> authority to set the percentage rate the Town will pay for health insurance <br /> premiums for retired Town employees and their spouses. <br /> The Selectmen were advised that ease law has established setting the rate <br /> as an executive function. Once the pertinent statute has been given to the <br /> Board,the Selectmen would have the authority to set the percentage. The <br /> Board of Selectmen was in agreement to set the rate on or before July 1, <br /> 2003. <br /> Since the articles in the warrant do not contain attached monetary figures, <br /> the Finance Commi <br />
