4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 30, 2017 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Applicationfor-Special Event Annual Holiday Parade,...Mashpee Chamber of Commerce: <br /> A Special Events Application was presented to the Board of Selectmen from the Mashpee Chamber <br /> of Commerce to hold the annual Holiday Parade on December 9, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 7;00 p.m. <br /> entitled.the Mashpee "Season of Illumination". <br /> To alleviate congestion, a new parade route is planned to begin at Deer Crossing through the South <br /> Cape Village to Mashpee Commons. A certificate of liability insurance was attached to the <br /> application as was stipulations from applicable Department Heads regarding the event. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cotton to approve the application of the Chamber of Commerce to <br /> hold the annual Holiday Parade on December 9,2017 as planned. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Opposed, none <br /> Recommendation for Award of Contract for Salt, Morton Salt, Inc., Catherine Laurent: <br /> Correspondence was received from Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works dated October 2, <br /> 2017 recommending that a contract be awarded to Morton Salt, Inc., the low bidder through the <br /> regional bid process for road salt. The qualified bid amount is $47.29 per ton. This represents a 15% <br /> decrease from FY17. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to award the contract for road salt to Morton Salt, Inc. in <br /> the amount of$47.29 per ton. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Opposed, none <br />
