HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE—PUBLIC SESSION <br /> September 15,2016—2:00 P.M. <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL—OCKWAY MEETING ROOM <br /> Committee Members Present: Also Present: <br /> John Calahane Gail Wilson, Human Services Director <br /> Veronica Warden <br /> Frank Fantasia <br /> Ebony Steele <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman John Calahane called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS—None <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Review of minutes from August 18, 2016 <br /> Motion: Frank Fantasia moved to accept the minutes of August 18,2016 as <br /> presented, seconded by Veronica Warden. Vote unanimous 4-0 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> The Director introduced and welcomed Ebony Steele the new Human Services <br /> Committee member. <br /> Presentation by the Visiting Nurses Association <br /> Mary Devlin, Meg Payne and Kathy Ganey were present,from the Visiting Nurses <br /> Association <br /> The VNA representatives stated the VNA are the public nurses for the Town of Mashpee. <br /> They highlighted several programs they provide: nursing services thru their health care <br /> department, public health and wellness, visits to new moms and their babies, a licensed <br /> clinical social worker, wellness presentations, health fair to be held at the Council on <br /> Aging, It was noted they now have a social worker who will be available to do <br /> assessments. They also have a pain support group which will be held in January at the <br /> Council on Aging and a new exercise program Fit and Strong. They stated they are open <br /> to what Mashpee and the community needs. The Director noted she felt there was a need <br />
