He recommended a meeting be set up with them and a couple different Committee members.
Jamie asked that Eric look into what other towns have done with similar affordable housing
mitigation fiinds.
d, Other New Business:
1. Deb'orah presented to the Committee a document entitled `An Act Promoting
Regional Cooperation,' which was a pilot program allowing for 3 parts of the state to
become housing regions. Under this program, each housing region could work to
solve the member town's affordable housing at a regional level. The Committee
agreed to have this matter looked into further and have it on the October meeting
agenda.
2, Selectmen Myers outlined a proposal for an Affordable Housing Initiative: an
`Individual Ownership Assistance Program' (his one page outline has been attached
to the Meeting Notes), Discussion was held about this proposal. Eric was going to
forward the proposal on to the Consultant for inclusion in the Action Plan, as
something that should be looked into fiirther.
e. Old Business.
1. New Member Packet. Eric did not have the time to take existing packet and convert
to `bullet' form document. Zella agreed to take on this task.
2. Committee membership status. There is still one opening on the Committee. It
appears that the Selectmen reappointed Bob Nelson onto the Committee, but he has
not been a member for a year and a half. Twenty-two (22) people had responded in
the Affordable Housing Survey as being interested in joining the Committee. Zella
agreed to call them up, get their addresses and invite them to a fiiture meeting.
IV
Next Regularly Scheduled Meeting: October S, 2004
V
Meeting adjourned at 8:40 pin
Respectfully submitted
Eric R. Smith, Assistant Town Planner
2
