NEW BUSINESS
Motion: Veronica Warden moved to add the discussion regarding the Homebound
in Mashpec, seconded by Lynne Waterman.. Vote unanimous 6-0
Frank Fantasia referred to his proposal Homebound in Mashpee for Delivery of Groceries
to people who are homebound. This would be groceries that the pantry would pack and
deliver to the homebound. He said they have the ability to vet the people but have no
ability to deliver the groceries. The proposal is basically to form a partnership with the
pantry and the Town of Mashpee. We are looking to come up with some kind of concept
that we would rely on the resources of the town to get these groceries into the homes of
these homebound people. The Director noted this was her initiative #3. She referred to
two clients who are homebound and no way to get any food. There was a lengthy
discussion on developing a pilot program. The members generally agreed to develop a
draft proposal to submit to the CCRTA to see if they would be interested in a pilot
program consisting of five people once a month. This could be a reputable regional
model. If CCRTA isn't receptive to this proposal, it was suggested meeting with the
Town Manager, The Director thanked Frank Fantasia for his proposal
Coordinator Report
Update of Mashpee Substance Abuse Task Force
The Director said the Substance Abuse Task Force had two meetings attended by a multi
sector group of about 15 individuals. They are approaching through two main areas
.prevention and intervention and treatment and recovery. Under the prevention and
intervention, the Task Force decided on a wellness campaign with the title "It is Never
To Early". The Task Force will be handing out resource materials at different town
events and are hoping to have their own web page. This page, with input from the Task
Force, will have the most recent events and substance information. Also, they will be
developing a logo for our Task )Force and doing some PSAs for Mashpee TV. The
second component is treatment and recovery and this will be to pull together all the
resources on and off the Cape. The Task Force wants to bring in anyone that could
possibly help.
Motion: Frank Fantasia moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Veronica
Warden. Vote unanimous
Meeting adjourned 3:15 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Judy Daigneault
Recording Secretary
