w <br /> Resident Services <br /> Several services and recreational activities are offered to our residents: A monthly newsletter is <br /> provided; Bingo is offered; there is an annual Ice Cream Social; pot luck dinners; afternoon <br /> teas; monthly birthday parties; and miscellaneous presentations throughout the year. In <br /> addition, the housing authority maintains a small library for resident use, and a sitting area with <br /> television and VCR. Washing machines and driers are provided for resident use for a nominal <br /> fee. A part-tire Resident Services coordinator was hired to assist the Executive Director at <br /> Asher's Path with special needs and requests of the residents there. <br /> Community Involvement <br /> The Executive Director remains very acture in community, State and Federal housing groups: <br /> Mrs. Botsford is Past President of the Small Housing Authority Directors organization, a <br /> member of MassI AHR 's professional development committee, a member of the Southeastern <br /> Massachusetts Executive Directors Association; a member of the Mashpee Human Service <br /> Council; a member of the rational Association of Housing & Redevelopment Officials; a <br /> member of the cape Housing officials group, and a member of the Section 8 Administrations <br /> Association. <br /> Current Housing Programs <br /> • 17 Scattered site family and elderly units funded via the Department of Housing and <br /> Community Development DHCD under the Massachusetts Rental Assistance Program <br /> (MRVP). <br /> 9 38 Project based family and elderly units funded via the Department of Housing and <br /> Community Development DHCD ander the Massachusetts Rental Assistance Program <br /> (MRVP) project based program located at TCB Mash pee tillage. <br /> • Two Alternative Housing Voucher Program units AHP funded via the Department of <br /> Housing and Community Development DHCD to assist non-elderly disabled individuals. <br /> Three units under the Department of Mental Health Rental Assistance Program. <br /> 0 24 Elderly/disabled units funded under the State 667 Program located at the Frank J. <br /> Homeyer Village, 7 Job's Fishing Road. This development includes two barrier free <br /> units. Three of the 24 units are set aside for non^elderly, disabled residents. <br /> 0 Sic State Family three bedroom units funded under the State 705 Program, Breezy Acres <br /> t 570 Old Barnstable Road. This development includes one three-bedroom barrier free <br /> unit. <br /> • scattered site family and elderly units funded via the Federal Section 8 Program. <br /> • 56 orae-bedroom units of affordable housing for persons 55 and older at Asher's Path <br /> Apartments. <br /> Waiting lists <br /> The housing authority maintains waiting lists for all housing that it owns and manages. <br /> Following is a list of the waiting lists and the number of applicants gaiting for housing: <br /> Chapter 7 Home er Village (one bedroom only): 79 <br /> Chapter 70 /Breezy Acres (three bedrooms only): 9 <br /> MRVP Project Based assistance at Masbpee pillage: <br /> 1 bedroom: 70 <br /> bedrooms: 7 <br /> bedrooms: 27 <br /> bedrooms: <br /> Asher's Path Apartments (one bedroom only): 24 <br /> - - <br /> i <br />
