MASHPEE HISTORICAL COMMISSION <br /> THURSDAY, AUGUST 17 , 1995 <br /> 9 : 00 A. M. <br /> I <br /> PRESENT: J. FEI RACAMo <br /> R. LYNCH <br /> A. WHITLOW <br /> II MINUTES : The minutes of the June 15 , 1995 meeting were <br /> accepted as presented. <br /> III REPORTS : <br /> A. 125th Anniversary ,Update: Joanne Ferragamo reported that <br /> the 125th Anniversary books' were printed. The Historical <br /> Commission was endeavoring to sell then. Joanne sent a <br /> notice to the Chamber of .Commerce advising the business <br /> people that the boobs' were for sale. We have had little <br /> response. <br /> Joanne reported three programs were scheduled; for Septem- <br /> ber there will be a beach festival, for October', Police <br /> en House, and a dinner-dance. That will pretty much <br /> conclude the 125th anniversary events. <br /> The historical commission planned to have a book, signing <br /> for o-sernary Burns, however a date has not yt been sched- <br /> Uled. <br /> B. Museum Update: Joanne reported that she had received a <br /> letter from Bob Whritenout explaining their pians for the <br /> museum. - There was one comment on the letter, which was <br /> for the historical commission members to meet with the <br /> museum and discuss with thea how we can help to improve <br /> their exhibits. <br /> A. Whitlow explained that Er estine had reported that the <br /> rug had not been repaired, as had been previous l.y .reported. <br /> Joanne suggested that if .Ernestine had any .comments to the <br /> letter, -she should draft therm in a mento to Mr. Whritenour. <br /> Joanne explained that when things quieted down, she' and <br /> Ann would set up a meeting wit-h Ernestine and Mrs . Hendricks <br /> and whomever may be interested from the museum. <br /> . <br /> There had been allocated $10,.000 from the 196 budget to <br /> correct the following: the rotting floor, the DPT is ac- <br /> cepting uotes , for the work which will include the instal- <br /> lation of a fouhdation under the building. The museum <br /> has c ' painted. A .new well has been installed. The <br /> W has spent quite a hit o ,time on landscaping. Other <br /> work required at the mu eu .- includes replacement o win- <br /> dow s clue to rotting, etc. Closing the museum at this <br /> time is not necessary,- though the public was not allowed <br /> into the front room. <br />
