Chair Lee Gurney presided. <br /> Commissioners Present: Rosemary Bums, Lee Gurney, Sunny Merritt, Paula Peters <br /> Commissioners Absent: Gail Slattery, Frank Lord <br /> The Minutes of the July Ithmeeting were approved as presented, Ms, Peters abstained as she <br /> was absent from this meeting. <br /> Ms. Gurney reported the budget status for the Town's July 1-June 30'h fiscal year. She also <br /> noted that only minimal administrative work could be accomplished until the Commission was <br /> able to fill the vacant clerk pbsition. <br /> Ms. Peters reported on the Community Preservation Act- The CPA has recommended over <br /> $600.,000 be spent on eligible projects. This amount is less than half of the available funds. <br /> Since this is a new process, not all initial applicants responded to requests for additional' <br /> information or clarification. However,, the One-Room Schoolhouse Project did and it is in line to <br /> receive $161.,500 if approved by Town Meeting in October. <br /> Ms. Slattery is working on replacing the Archives' display board at the Post Office. <br /> Ms. Merritt updated the Commission on the status of the Mashpee One-Room Schoolhouse <br /> Preservation Council (MOSPC , known as the Schoolhouse Friends. She also reported on the <br /> status,, locationl, and estimated cost of Schoolhouse furnishings ineligible under CPA funding and <br /> that the Friends have approximately $900 in private donations for the Schoolhouse to use. <br /> Members welcomed Frank Lord as a new member and Ann Graham as the new clerk. <br /> Ms. Gurney reported that the Town"s Planning Department has acquired a large scanner and has <br /> offered to scan Archives maps, which will make it easier to provide copies to the public. <br /> There being no further business before the Commission., the meeting adjourned at 11 15 AM. <br /> Next Meeting: Tuesday, October 3,, 2006 <br /> 00 <br />
