-2- <br /> to have as handouts available at the Archives. Rosemary has already written another <br /> one on Popponesset, as well as doing other research for future articles. Frank Lord <br /> would like to write an article on the history of the schoolhouse since it has been moved <br /> to its new location in the Veteran's Park. The 3rd grade children in Mashpee made their <br /> first visits last spring after it was opened on Memorial Day in May 2009. <br /> Rosemary advised us that land records can easily be accessed through the Barnstable <br /> Registry of Deeds; however, the probate records will not be available on line. Debbie <br /> Dami is keeping the town records. Lee Gurney feels that we have saved duplicate <br /> items, such as the MA General Laws, that we may not need to keep. <br /> Some work needs to be done on the present building. We will work on a list of our <br /> recommendations to upgrade the present Archives building in the spring. <br /> Frank Lord hopes to apply the remaining CPC request for funding to add a small <br /> woodshed in the back of the existing schoolhouse building. He is also working with <br /> students who are preparing the flyer, doing a project on covering the message board <br /> with a plexiglass sheet, and he hopes to be able to make an enclosure on the closet in <br /> the schoolhouse in order to display artifacts of that period. We have had some <br /> vandalism regarding the lights. The vines and weeds along the pathway need to be <br /> addressed, and he will follow up with Catherine Laurent. <br /> Accessions: <br /> Rosemary Burns moved that we access the two CDs that were given to us by C. H. <br /> Newton Builders. They contain many pictures of the rehabilitation of the Meetinghouse <br /> done in 2005 and 2008. <br /> Frank Lord will write a thank you note to Anita Peters for an old picture of Mashpee <br /> Wampanoags that she donated to the Archives. <br /> We have a several items that are listed in the Accessions Book, and we mentioned that <br /> we would really like to have some of the items at the Archives appraised, as well as <br /> some of the artifacts we have on display at the one-room schoolhouse. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Rosemary Burns has reviewed and forwarded corrections on a final report submitted by <br /> Electa Tritsch of the Trustees of Reservations concerning the Mashpee River. <br /> New Business: <br /> Rosemary Burns would like to purchase microfilm from the State Archives on articles <br /> concerning Mashpee. She would like to gain permission from the Town to offer to <br />
