It was reviewed with the board and <br /> Mrs. Botsford was complemented on doing an excellent, thorough job. Mrs. Botsford said she <br /> would hand-deliver the proposal packet to town hall tomorrow. It was suggested that another <br /> application for funding be submitted for money fr m the town to help to buy ars existing home <br /> for the housing authority to rent. Mr. Halpern stated that he didn't believe anything would b <br /> happening before the October 2006 town meeting; <br /> OTHER BUSI I E S: <br /> Town Affordable Housi.ng Committee Update from liaison: Ms. Battles gave a brief update. She <br /> stated that a gentleman from Habitat for Humanity was at the last meeting and talked about <br /> collaborating with the housing authority. Mrs. Botsford asked what their ideas were, because <br /> she was under the impression that Habitat only built hones to sell to their applicants and did <br /> not do rental property. A brief discussion was had about this. Mrs. Botsford told Ms. Battles <br /> that if she put her in touch with the person who spoke for Habitat, maybe we could see ghat <br /> their ideas were. The possibility of having him come to a future meeting was suggested. A <br /> discussion was also had about the money ($200,000.00) the town's Affordable Housing <br /> Committee has for affordable housing in Mashpee. None of this money has been used yet. Ms. <br /> Battles said they want to do something and suggested contacting Zella Elinberry to discuss <br /> how to apply for some of that money.
