L
. After one of the boilers at Breezy Acres failed (the 2"d of the six), I approached DHC'.D for a grant
to replace the remaining four before they fail and we have to replace them in an emergency
situation (vire have been spending money repairing therm for the last few years). DHC:D awarded
us $25,000 to replace the four remaining boilers. I will be starting the process for that bidding
once the contract is signed tonight.
• The renewal of the contract for our rental assistance programs reeds to be signed by the
chairperson. No board vote is rewired. Cance signed, I'll get to DHC.D for execution.
The Chairperson signed the contracts and Mrs. Botsford will return to DHC:D for full execution.
OLD BUSINESS:
Town land for affordable housing: After a brief discussion regarding land available in town for
development of affordable housing, it was decided that Mrs. Botsford would send a letter to town town
on behalf of the housing authority requesting the piece of property on the Corner of Cold Barnstable Road
and Creat Neck Road, North. Ms. Carron will email the map and parcel number-to Mrs. Botsford so that
she can prepare the request.
At this point, Mrs. Botsford updated the board on the Breezy Acres expansion project and advised them
that she has been having talks with Mass Housing Partnership (MHP) about doing a bigger project behind
the planned 705 and 689; They have a Planning Grant Program and Mrs. Botsford is going to apply for
that. She will keep the board posted.
Ashers Path/Peabody Properties update: Ms. Botsford stated that things are going well at the site, but
things don't seem to be going smoothly with Peabody Properties. She outlined some of her concerns and
after a discussion the board decided to write one more letter to specifically outline our expectations. If
things don't improve by the first of May, they will be asked to attend a meeting with the board. Mrs.
Botsford informed the board that her recovery is not going very smoothly right now and her doctor thinks
she may be over doing it a little with work. He has cut back her work hours to30/week. Mrs. Botsford
stated that she would work 6 hours per day at the office and the rest at home. She needs to get back to
dung regular physical therapy and focus again on healing and recovery. She will advise Peabody
Properties of this.
NEW BUSINESS;
Authorization of Amendment #1 to Capital Improvement Work Plan tBo2 ,Project iso, 1720 The
following resolution was introduced by Leila Botsford read in full and considered:
RESOLUTION f AUTHORIZING G COWRACT FCR CAPITAL' IMPROVEf EiYi WORK PLAN FOR STATE-AIDED
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT WORK PLAN NO No, 1002 FOR HOUSING PROGRAM Chapter 705
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE MEMBERS OF THE MA H EE HORSING
AUTHORITY, AS FOLLOWS,
Section 1.
