Chairman Cahalane will invite Ms. Laurent to attend a meeting to discuss plans to address
AECOM's recommendations for Santuit as well as the stormwater aspect of the Rules and
Regulations.
Committee members discussed the need to have a policy established to offer consistency and
continuity. The Chair stated his understanding that some roads would be difficult to upgrade to
the set standards. Chairman Cahalane questioned whether an Appeals Board could review
situations on a case-by-case basis. Ms. Waygan responded that a waiver section is in place, but
the DPW did not wish to go before the Planning Board to acquire the waiver. Ms. Waygan will
forward the section to the Chair to be reviewed and noted that any body could be responsible for
issuing the waiver. Ms. Waygan stated that there are not too many roads that need to be taken in
Mashpee. Mr. Baker emphasized that all parties should be working together for the same goal
regardless of whether a private road is becoming public or a public road requires and upgrade.
Ms. Waygan and the Chair expressed hope that the issue will be resolved. Mr. Baker
emphasized that stormwater best management practices be in place to the extent possible. The
Chair agreed. Ms, Waygan questioned whether or not Ms. Laurent had seen the final Santuit
Pond report and the Chair responded that he did not believe that she had seen it. Committee
members discussed inviting Dr. Kerfoot and the Tribe to further discuss alternatives to
addressing the issues in Santuit Pond.
DISCUSSION
Cape Cod Water Resource Restoration Project(CCWRRP) Update-Rick York
Mr. York reported that two projects in Mashpee appear to be identified for the project and
include the Santuit Pond Darn and the Shoestring Bay Stormwater Runoff Project.
