Deport of the 7.1 Ice Hockey (continued) <br /> Superintendent Mashpee parent,Peter peros indicated that he has obtained <br /> (continued) informal commitments mitments in the amount of$500 to <br /> contribute to)irards the ice hockey program. The new <br /> prgrrn'is expected to cost $15,000.. <br /> To comply With Title IX compliance for equal <br /> opportunities, volleyball has been suggested as a possible <br /> offering'forgirls. A s r ey will he distributed to determine <br /> interest. <br /> It was noted that the staff'of the high school would post for <br /> the position of coach, and determine equipment purchases <br /> for the ice hockey prorarn. n <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook to include a junior varsity ice <br /> hockey program to the high school athletic program for the <br /> upcoming school year for a sura-not to exceed $10,000. <br /> The additional funding for the program shall derive from <br /> donations by the date of 9/1/00. Duties and responsibilities <br /> of the school system include the Dining of an ice hockey <br /> coach and the determination of equipment for said purpose. <br /> Motion seconded by Mrs. Macdonald. <br /> VOTE: In favor—Mrs. Lynch, Mrs- Mills, Ms. <br /> Macdonald, Mrs. Cook. <br /> Mr. Paxton abstained. <br /> 7.14 Music Committee For informational purposes, the <br /> Committee reviewed correspondence from the Music Study <br /> Committee dated 13100. <br /> V11. Specifically 8.1 MCAS Update Trish Parolski updated the Committee <br /> Assigned/ on the upcoming MCAS testing dates. <br /> Unfinished Business <br /> IX. New Business Mrs. Lynch announced the upcoming Ocean Quest and <br /> mural unveiling program as well as art and science shows <br /> scheduled this week in the schools. <br /> A new tradition has been established whereby students <br /> attending the prom have agreed to meet at the high school <br /> prior to the prom to allow parents to take photographs. <br /> Town-wide elections are scheduled this Saturday. <br />
